INNOVATION AWARDED

”Certificate of Innovativeness” is yet another award that has been achieved by PROFIm. This time, we were appreciated for our intense research and development activities and innovativeness.

The programme of research on the innovativeness of the Polish economy was launched in 2003 by the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). In 2006, the programme was expanded by the organisation of regional rankings. In the Poznań area, including the wielkopolskie, lubuskie, kujawsko-pomorskie and zachodniopomorskie provinces, PROFIm was ranked second. The aim of the programme is to increase innovativeness and select innovative enterprises, as well as stimulating the development of the Polish economy. As Tadeusz Baczko, the Coordinator of the project from the Institute of Economic Sciences, notes – the innovativeness programme is all the more important because, for example, the amount of R&D and innovation outlays at the Ford Motor Corporation is four times higher than that of all Polish companies taken together. The Ford Motor Corporation allocates around Eur 7 billion a year for that purpose. Therefore, it is worthwhile to support those companies which are a driving force of the Polish economy.

Partners of the programme, which is aimed at compiling a list of Poland's 500 most innovative companies, include BRE Bank, the project’s initiator, and the Gazeta Prawna daily.

The Certificate of Innovativeness was awarded to PROFIm at a festive gala held in the Słodownia studio of the Stary Browar Shopping, Art and Business Centre in Poznań on 23 October 2006
